School is fun and just got more fun with our new exchange student schedule. The principal knows that we aren’t learning anything in the classes just because we were thrown in during the middle of the school year for them and for the most part we already know what they are learning we just don’t know it in Spanish. So we have Spanish classes for 2 hours nearly every day, dancing classes where we learn folklore dances and Latin America dances like salsa, and we get to go swimming twice a week. It makes school so much more exciting! I love the Spanish teacher. She teaches it in a way I can understand it and the dancing classes… our first day in folklore was mostly just foot fundamentals and counting to the music Latin American dancing was learning to cut loose and shake what your mama gave ya! Did I mention we shake? The nice thing is there are 13 exchange students in our school together so we are all in this together. It’s nice to have people going through the same thing dancing, laughing, and shaking alongside you. So watch out world! When we come back to our countries dancing will never be the same again!
I’m in Arequipa with my host family I will stay with till the change of the year. Then I will go to lima for a month, come back to Arequipa and stay with a different host family. Arequipa is wonderful! I love it so much more then lima just because it is a smaller and more friendly city. You can see the stars at night and we snuggled between our guardians mountains that rise over the city. I have no trouble with the altitude but I’m going to credit that to my uncle for giving me a tip to drink a lot of water. I have drank more water here then at my home in the states… which is kind of backwards but whatever. I love the food. It’s mostly different forms of chicken, rice, and potatoes but still fantastic and pretty healthy.

I am glad they have started dance lessons for you. I look forward to seeing them when you return. It appears it must be pretty popular there.
