Our family welcomes yet another member into our crazy clan. Rosy is half Shih tzu and half Chihuahua and let me tell you when mom proposed getting a puppy last month I wasn’t ecstatic. I'm not a little dog person so every time my family discussed the puppy I removed myself from the conversation. That is, until I held her for the first time. The little bean snuggled up in my arms and placed her little head so trustingly on my chest and gave me the most pathetic whimper that only a little puppy can do. I was hooked. Bait and tackle. I don’t have a ton of pictures of her at the moment because the majority of the time she is asleep wrapped up in a blanket. It's so exhausting being a cute puppy!
On a more morbid note, over the weekend my mom went into the emergency room for stomach pain and found out she had appendicitis AND pancreatitis. The lord was watching over us though and mom got her appendix out the next morning and was home that evening. Now she is home recovering. Well I say recovering but should also note that she refuses to let her appendix get in the way of work around the house. It's almost pathetic. Almost. I'm just glad it's summer! The weather is bright and where ever you look green is smiling back! The garden is growing like crazy along with the weeds of course. Right now the raspberries are coming in and are more delicious than ice cream! Especially when they are put on top of ice cream. Life is just as sweet! As for me I'm starting to say goodbyes. I've been mentally preparing for months now but I guess you can prepare all you want to but when it comes to presentation time you either know it or you don’t. It doesn’t help I've been working a lot of crazy hours. Anyone who's done that knows it toys with your mind and gives you a lot of time to think. It makes me even more sentimental then I already am. It's all part of the exchange I guess. Thank you for reading! There is more to come so stay tuned. Somehow, in some way mom let my brother Paul get a kitten from our nabors. At first his name was Sir Billy but we changed it when dad suggested that we name him Toonces after the SNL skit Toonces the driving cat. My family LOVES SNL so it stuck almost immediately. He is the cutest little thing! He likes to play with yarn and roll around like a dog. He sleeps a lot and plays a lot but his favorite thing to do is cuddle. I took some photos the little fur ball and posted them at the end of this blog. Adapting Toonces isn't the only thing that’s been happening this month! I officially graduated from high school, had an awesome graduation party, went on our family vacation to Hunting Island, and am working my socks off trying to bulk up the bank account for this exchange. Never fear I will be blogging about each of these eventually. Right now I'm just trying to get some researching done for my research project that outbounds have to create for out counties (Outbounds, by the way, are students that are going to depart to their exchange. They are "outward bound."). On another note I wanted to make it clear that this "blog" part of my blogging website isn't the only part I've been updating! The Pictures tab located at the top left of the site will take you to my pictures section. I love to take pictures and as you will see the pictures I take are just pictures I've taken showing where I've been or what I've seen. I love this portion of my blog almost more than my written part because pictures are so fun to look at. There is also an About page that gives a basic description about me and why I even created this blog in the first place and, *drum roll please* I have fun slide shows and videos I'm going to create taking you to all my special places and meeting all my special people. Now, notice I said going… I'm not 100% done yet. I plan on updating this section when I'm in Peru as well so my followers can see my Peruvian house and meet my new families and friends. Well I need to get back to researching! Thank you for reading! |
